The mindset that changed everything?
“Do it anyway.”
That’s the guiding principle I repeat to myself every single time an opportunity comes up that makes my stomach drop. Why? Because you’re never going to feel fully ready the first time (or the second… or the tenth). But leaning into that fear? That’s where the real growth happens.
The first time I presented a Motion in court - petrified.
My first trial - petrified.
The first time I presented to executive leadership - petrified. (you get the idea)
But every time I said yes, it taught me I could do it. It elevated my confidence, accelerated my career, and opened doors I never thought I’d walk through.
Okay your turn—what’s one thing you’ve let fear hold you back from? And what would it take for you to start saying YES to the things that could change your career?
Building confidence in your career is a process, and it's often about small, consistent actions that build a strong foundation over time. Some of the proven & effective ways to build confidence:
1. Build Competence Through Skill Development
Learn continuously: Stay updated with trends and tools in your field.
Take courses, read books, or attend workshops.
Practice deliberately: Confidence grows when you're good at what you do.
2. Track Your Wins (Big & Small)
Keep a “success journal” or a document where you log:
Projects completed
Positive feedback from peers/clients
Skills mastered
Problems solved
Review it when you feel unsure - it’s proof of your growth (...a little confidence boost)
3. Set Small, Achievable Goals
Break large tasks into smaller steps.
Each small win builds momentum and proves you can move forward.
If you’re ready to shift your mindset, build confidence, and step into those moments that feel intimidating but have the power to transform your path - I’d love to help. That’s exactly what I work on with my coaching clients.
Does this resonate? Send me a message—I’d love to share & help you put into practice the proven tools and mindset frameworks that will set you up to lean into your next big YES with confidence.
Cheering for you,
McKenzie
